This project was built for a company concepting and selling green rooftops. The product they sell has a positive impact on the environment.

The use case is the following: Both a salesman and a potential client meet in multiplayer in virtual reality in this application. Different buttons can be pressed to see the impact of the weather on the ecosystem with and without the improved rooftops. The users can travel from rooftop to rooftop and discuss the different aspects of the product.

My tasks as a software engineer

My tasks had to do with diverse aspects of the application:

• Multiplayer: Develop and maintain the multiplayer system, using Meta Avatars to improve the sense of presence. I have had the occasion to use Oculus networking, Photon and the recently released Unity networking solutions.
• Logic: Understand the client’s needs, and discuss with the team what path we want to take in order to make the feature available. After this, I implemented agile C# modules that would work in both the WebGL and Android versions of the app.

WebGL version

This application was also compatible with desktop thanks to its WebGL version. The main difference between the VR and the WebGL version was the navigation. The UI is in the screenspace, and moving the mouse orbits the camera around the virtual table.
